What I don’t do as a photographer (and why)

When you book a session with me, there are a few things I intentionally don’t do—and it’s all part of my approach to capturing authentic, meaningful moments. Here’s the rundown.

I don’t want you looking at the camera

That’s right! My goal is for you to connect with each other and live in the moment. Those unposed, candid interactions are where the magic happens.

Focus on each other–like I'm not even there

I don’t rush through sessions

Kids (and adults!) need time to warm up, feel comfortable, and just be themselves. That’s why I never rush our time together—I let moments unfold naturally, so we can capture memories that feel genuine and true to you.

I don’t use Photoshop

My editing is minimal—no smoothing hair, no altering features, no stitching faces. I focus on preserving the real you, just as you are.

I don’t pose kids (or force smiles)

I let kids be themselves—whether they’re giggling, pensive, or running around. It’s in those natural, unscripted moments that their unique personalities truly shine. Forced smiles? Not here. I’m all about capturing the real joy.

I don’t overbook my calendar

I keep my schedule manageable to give each family the time, energy, and care they deserve. Quality over quantity—always.

So there you have it—a little insight into my approach and why I do things differently.
